Precision Truck Design and Development
When I first got into longboarding, consumer access to CNC machining was becoming increasingly affordable and widespread. To achieve the precision required for stability at speeds exceeding 60 mph, many longboard manufacturers began shifting away from traditional cast trucks in favor of CNC-milled alternatives. These precision-machined trucks significantly reduced slop and introduced tighter tolerances, setting a new standard for performance and safety. This transition marked a turning point in the industry—leading to more in-depth geometric analysis, improved materials, and a new generation of stronger, more reliable race-oriented components.
