Ever since my dad first taught me how to install an outlet, I’ve been driven to become as self-reliant as possible when it comes to hands-on problem-solving and repairs. In high school, I founded the Habitat for Humanity club, where we worked on local affordable housing projects. Since then, I’ve taken on everything from full bathroom remodels to building chicken coops from scratch.
Largely self-taught since moving out at 18, I spent time working in the trades and continued learning through friends, family, and direct experience. Over the years, I’ve developed into a true jack-of-all-trades—motivated by curiosity, necessity, and a passion for doing things the right way.
After starting the Habitat for Humanity chapter at my high school, we participated in several hands-on build days. One particularly meaningful project involved assisting a construction crew in El Cajon, where we helped erect a community of affordable homes for veterans. It was a powerful experience that deepened my commitment to practical, purpose-driven work and reinforced the value of giving back through building.
